fathers day

I know this is waaayy late, but better late than never, right?
So for Father's Day, we went to Franklinton to see Justin's parents. We hadn't been down there in a while, and this weekend was perfect reason to go.
Friday night we got there late. It was nice to just relax in a recliner and talk after a loong week. Saturday we made plans to go to the Skeet Club. Yes, they're members of a Skeet club, which I didn't know existed until the first time I went to Franklinton. It wasn't as redneck as you might think, either. We had a blast, Beaux especially, and I shot 2 out of like 6 and still have the bruise on my shoulder to prove it.
yummy lake stick
Beaux swam and swam, ran in the sand, napped and swam again. Justin and I did a little of that too. It was nice to just get a float and a beer and sit in the water. There are little fishes everywhere that will get close, but unfortunately Beaux did not catch us any for dinner, so we grilled out instead.
almost as pretty as the beach (almost)
We had a blast spending the entire day with the family, and I am very thankful we all get along. Very, very thankful. I'm so grateful that Justin appreciates and loves family and family time as much as I do, and that's one of the reasons why I love him. I wish that our families were more centralized so that we could see both around the same time, but we make it work.
happy father's day (excuse the beers, it's the weekend)
Sunday, we all slept (some more than others) and recovered from the sun on Saturday. Celebrated Father's Day at home with some homemade spaghetti and packing up furniture. We finally have a dining table in Clinton, and I couldn't be more ecstatic. It's a beautiful antique table that took forever to pack in the truck, but was totally worth it.
I'm so glad that his parents gave it to us. It was definitely the last piece of furniture missing from the apartment.
Now, I'll be back soon this week to update you on the food festival we had this past weekend. Hope everyone enjoyed Father's Day :)
Oh and one more thing.
Adorable, right?
